We do not judge their effectiveness or beauty, but merely show what surprised us as original, creative, thrilling, touching or simply unbelievable. You may find examples from a manual that drove you crazy. We collected these illustrations from manuals, cut them from packages, copied them from museum and company archives, and stole them from airplanes. Too often, we never even saw the products that accompanied the illustrations. We've enlarged some pieces and added or changed colors for a few others. But in general we give you these illustrations without prettifying or perfecting them-the authentic pictures are alienating enough.
