He is 'anxious to know' if the copy of 'Part VI. of our "Contributions"' was received by Greenough, and how those sent to 'several other directions' fared. He asks Greenough to ask 'my friend the Judge' to let him know 'the result of his acquisitions in the line of Provincial Laws and Journals of Massachusetts'. 'I do not wish to be inquisitive into secret things - but I occasionally have an offer of things of this sort, which I might refer to the Pub. Lib., if I knew the fragments were desirable there'. He concludes 'Of all places in world to look for such things, Maryland is far enough off, yet i had inquiring as to the value of a fragment of that very volume from Baltimore'.
