Brown Cloth. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. Lacks, half inch (at narrowest) to one and a half inch (at widest) strip along length of spine. Rest of spine has some chips, and a few closed tears. Previous owner's bookplate on front paste down page. Very small hole on bottom edge of p. 529. Map insert at p. 529 has a small chip on top edge, is mildly darkened along edges, and has a closed tear along one of the folds. Otherwise this book is in very good condition.

Hayes Agnew, immortalized in Thomas Eakins' celebrated painting *The Agnew Clinic*; William Pepper, influential Provost of the University of Pennsylvania and one of the leading figures in American medical education; James Tyson, prominent authority in internal medicine and pathology; Horatio C. Wood, pioneering neurologist and pharmacologist; Theophilus G.
