John Crompton (1893-1972) was a British writer whose book explores the world of this fascinating insect, and is a follow-up to his first book, Ways of the Spider. The text is illustrated with 8 b&w drawings by J. Yunge-Bateman. Original yellow cloth publisher's covers with a little light spotting to the rear cover at the edge near the spine, a neat previous owner name in pencil dated 1957 on the front pastedown.
