Edoardo Zavattari (Tortona, 21 ottobre 1883 - Genova, 17 febbraio 1972) fu un noto biologo, esploratore, entomologo e accademico italiano, negativamente famoso anche per essere stato fra i principali teorici italiani del razzismo biologico e fra i dieci sottoscrittori del Manifesto degli scienziati razzisti, il cui testo, esteso da Guido Landra, ma ideato ed emendato da Mussolini, si configurò come atto prodromico alle Leggi razziali fasciste. Non comune scritto, 5 soli esemplari censiti in ICCU.

Scarce.Edoardo Zavattari (18831972) Italian zoologist who was a director at the Institute of Zoology in the Sapienza University of Rome from 1935 to 1953. He supported fascism and antisemitism on the basis of his ideas from biology and was a signatory to the "Manifesto della Razza".Between 1926 and 1959, he made several expeditions, visiting all the continents and notably North-Eastern Africa. His scientific interests met the political wish of the Fascist Regime to expand Italian colonial power in Africa. After exploring in Fezzan and other Libyan regions, in 1934 Zavattari published a complete overview of the zoological knowledge of Libya in the above work. His view of the need for a holistic approach to biological research that encompasses not only Zoology and Botany, but also humans, domestic animals and their parasites, made Zavattari a precursor of a One Health approach to environmental research and public health.
