Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2010 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,7, University of Applied Sciences Berlin (International Management), language: English, abstract: Once again Russia's positive… economic development outlook has been thrown into question by the global financial crisis. The country has faced a whole lot of economic problems in the past months. Russians have withdrawn 290 billion Dollars from the country's banks in fear of a financial collapse. At first sight on the past two years' events on Russia's financial market one may have had an impression of a 'déjà-vu':Since August 2008: the Rouble has dropped about one third against the Euro over 30 percent and against the Dollar even more than 40 percent.2 The incoming foreign investment of 28 billion Dollars which broke all records right in the year before has now shrunk up to a few billion. The country's two stock markets, the Russian Trading System (RTS) and the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX), have fallen 78 percent and 67 percent respectively since their highs in May 2008.3It appears as some cynical 10th anniversary of 17th of August 1998: when the Russian Government announced the gradual devaluation of the Rouble, the default on domestic and foreign debts, and declared a moratorium on payment by Russian commercial banks to foreign creditors. So the Rouble has dropped to the Dollar more than 300percent in the following months and was six times lower only a year after. At the outset this paper sets the currency crisis into the framework of the macroeconomic theory and provides a historical overview by putting the 1998 crisis into its timeframe and showing the impacts on the Russian economy. Furthermore the following questions are discussed: Why did the Rouble collapse Was this a home-made crisis or was it caused by exogenous factors such as the foregone turmoil on Asia's financial markets Finally it shows what the conditions under which an economy can become vulnerable to a currency crisis are, what are and the right and the wrong options to resolve it and the lessons learned.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Seminar paper from the year 2009 in the subject Business economics - Business Management, Corporate Governance, grade: 1,3, University of Applied Sciences Berlin, language: English, abstract: What do the construction of the Pyramids of Giseh or of… the Great Wall of China, Hannibal's Alps crossing and the Berlin Airlift have in common These all are examples for famous and inspiring historical projects which would have never been realized without a profound planning, execution, coordination, and control. Mankind seems to have a lot of experience coming from fields like construction, engineering and defense on one hand.On the other hand we almost daily hear about projects that have failed or haven't met customers' expectations and as a result have even ruined whole companies and organizations.Every year 75 Billion US Dollars have been spent on failing projects only in IT-sector. Only 17 percent of all software projects done in the United States meet the original targets, 50 percent must have those target changed. All that happens today, when branches and industries are faced with rough economic and highly competitive environments with an increasing market concentration and fragility which shortens product life cycles and puts very strong requirements to costs and quality. To reduce risks of failure, to collect knowledge, to benefit from own and others' experiences and to give guidelines to the project personnel project management was systematically developed as an outstanding discipline with its' own standards and guides. The emergence and recognition of a distinct profession of project management has certainly been a strong driver in the development of standards and frameworks. The need to understand and to specify the role of the project manager himself, for a common terminology and the necessity of a common basis for employment and deployment of project personnel, working collaboratively, across functions in multidisciprinary teams; across organizations in strategic alliances and joint ventures; and across continents in global projects - these were the significant factors for the development of standards world wide .This Term Paper presents an overview of the leading project management standards and guides for project management knowledge and performance including a comparison of their content, strengths and weeknesses.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,7, FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management gemeinnützige GmbH, Berlin früher Fachhochschule (International Management), Sprache: Deutsch,… Abstract: Russia's unique, very dynamic and complex business environment has not only caused great business prospects but also some difficult, painful upheaval. Therefore many Western entrepreneurs still associate risk rather than opportunity with Russia. But nevertheless, Russia still remains the world's largest country in terms of territory spanning nine time zones with a population of over 140 million people. Such massive changes as the liberalization and rapid growth of the Russian economy, its substantial growth in purchasing power and a relative lack of competition in some sectors make that challenging environment an attractive destination for foreign investment - especially for the German. Since 1997 Germany remains Russia's most important trade partner worldwide. Russia's exports to Germany went up to 30 Billion Euros in 2006 and 28.8 in 2007. But for the German companies Russian market is not less important - in 2007 the exports to Russia have had an impressing value of 28.2 Billion Euros which has increased to 20.6% from the year before. It must be noted however, that Russia's traditional exchange of goods with its Western partners mainly sustains of the export of its raw materials (energy) and the import of manufactured goods. Anyway, the close link and the growing dependency of both countries over the years become more and more evident. And both trade partners are considered as quite compatible as it can shortly be described by: 'The German Market can deliver whatever the Russian Market desires'. But these business engagement opportunities now appear in an environment significantly different from the German investor's habitual home culture - and culture is a crucial factor of human resource management. The essential knowledge of the institutional, managerial and contextual nuances is the key-factor for an effective management of human resources and successful formation of multinational enterprises. This term paper provides the main aspects of HRM in Russia and Germany and an overview about the cultural context in which human resource management takes place. Further on it examines the key human resource issues and concerns of businesses operating in this transitional environment. Moreover, some of Russia's HR specifics are analyzed and the most effective tools are presented for how to overcome the difficulties and how to succeed in doing business in Russia.

Neuware -Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich BWL - Unternehmensführung, Management, Organisation, Note: 1,7, FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management gemeinnützige GmbH, Berlin früher Fachhochschule (International Management), Sprac…he: Deutsch, Abstract: Russiäs unique, very dynamic and complex business environment has not only caused great business prospects but also some difficult, painful upheaval. Therefore many Western entrepreneurs still associate risk rather than opportunity with Russia. But nevertheless, Russia still remains the world¿s largest country in terms of territory spanning nine time zones with a population of over 140 million people.Such massive changes as the liberalization and rapid growth of the Russian economy, its substantial growth in purchasing power and a relative lack of competition in some sectors make that challenging environment an attractive destination for foreign investment ¿ especially for the German.Since 1997 Germany remains Russiäs most important trade partner worldwide.Russiäs exports to Germany went up to 30 Billion Euros in 2006 and 28.8 in 2007.But for the German companies Russian market is not less important ¿ in 2007 the exports to Russia have had an impressing value of 28.2 Billion Euros which has increased to 20.6% from the year before. It must be noted however, that Russiäs traditional exchange of goods with its Western partners mainly sustains of the export of its raw materials (energy) and the import of manufactured goods.Anyway, the close link and the growing dependency of both countries over the years become more and more evident. And both trade partners are considered as quite compatible as it can shortly be described by: ¿The German Market can deliver whatever the Russian Market desires¿.But these business engagement opportunities now appear in an environment significantly different from the German investor¿s habitual home culture ¿ and culture is a crucial factor of human resource management. Moreover, some of Russiäs HR specifics are analyzed and the most effective tools are presented for how to overcome the difficulties and how to succeed in doing business in Russia.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 28 pp. Deutsch.
