Ich stelle hier insbesondere die Frage nach dem Motiv der Figur, nach ihrer Intention. Das Ziel ist es, herauszuarbeiten, ob sich in ihr die Darstellung eines motivlosen 'Bösen' finden lässt, oder ob es nicht viel mehr um eine filmische Darstellung des Übermenschen nach Friedrich Nietzsche handelt. Ist der Joker DAS 'Böse', das um seiner selbst Willen handelt, oder ist es doch eine Figur mit einer nachvollziehbaren und damit menschlichen Motivation Der Übermensch ist im Gegensatz zum motivlosen 'Bösen' sehr zielgerichtet und strebt nach einer positiven Menschheitsentwicklung, wie ich im anschließenden Kapitel veranschaulichen werde. Erfüllt der Joker tatsächlich dieses Bild Nachdem ich die Ideologie Nietzsches dargelegt habe, werde ich mich im dritten Kapitel Nolans Figur widmen, um das zu untersuchen. Bei dieser Untersuchung habe ich zwei Kriterien in den Fokus gerückt. Zunächst werde ich mittels der Methode der Werkimmanenz erarbeiten, wie die Figur konstruiert ist. Danach wende ich mich der essentiellen Frage zu, ob die Figur geistig gesund ist - wobei der Terminus zu definieren ist -, oder nicht. Dies ist insofern wichtig, da der Übermensch nach Nietzsche geistig gesund sein muss. Würde der Joker diese Grundvoraussetzung der geistigen Zurechnungsfähigkeit nicht erfüllen, wäre die gesamte Diskussion bezüglich des Übermenschen hinfällig. Bei Untersuchungen zur Figur besteht da keineswegs ein wissenschaftlicher Konsens. Ich werde versuchen, werkimmanent zu klären, weshalb die Figur in meinen Augen durchaus geistig gesund ist.Auf der Basis dieser beiden Ausführungen im dritten Kapitel versuche ich dann im vierten Kapitel zu zeigen, dass Nolan hier tatsächlich eine fiktive Realisierung des Nietzscheschen Übermenschen präsentiert, diese aber auf dem letzten Schritt scheitern lässt. Als letzter Punkt und als Konklusion aus den vorangegangenen Punkten wird sich daher zeigen, dass der Joker nicht 'böse', jedoch ein gescheiterter Übermenschen ist. 68 pp. Deutsch.

Household food consumption has been defined as the total amount of food available for consumption in the household, generally excluding the food taken outside unless prepared at home (Klaver, Knuiman et al. 1982). It serves as an indicator of food security as well as a distal proxy indicator for poverty. The time examined in this essay is the year 1776. During the eighteenth century the Dukedom of Parma depended both economically and politically on the two main Bourbon powers: France and Spain. France and Spain were also the two main allies of the American revolutionaries. Parma was diplomatically represented by Spain, while its only independent diplomatic representation of the small state resided in France. Nonetheless, it would not, at first consideration, seem obvious to find such a wide and detailed amount of information concerning the American Revolution, or about the parliamentary debates taking place in London, in the dukedom's only official means of communication, the Gazzetta di Parma. Indeed, in this period, Parma was arguably the most politically conservative state on the Italian peninsula, one unlikely to be so interested in the talk of rights and freedom being spread by the American Revolution.The primary sources used for this research are mostly unpublished. They are the dispatches from the ambassador of Parma at Versailles to the Parmesan secretary of state, contained in Parma's State Archive (PSA), and editions of the Gazetta di Parma from 1776, contained in the municipal archive. 24 pp. Englisch.

Investigations were carried out to evaluate the effect of various carbohydrate sources e.g. glucose, maltose, lactose, sucrose and soluble starch with different concentrations on the production of fungal alpha amylase utilizing agricultural wastes as the fermentation medium. Studies were also carried out to evaluate the effect of various heat stable amino acids e.g. glycine, histidine, proline, leucine and isoleucine with different concentrations on the production of fungal alpha amylase utilizing agricultural wastes as the fermentation medium. The results indicated that maximum activity of alpha amylase (6639.85 U/gds) was obtained at 0.5% concentration of sucrose solution with a r2 of 0.9692 when compared to control (3319.95 U/gds) and other carbohydrates used. Maximum activity of alpha amylase (10407.80 U/gds) was also obtained at 0.75% concentration of proline solution with an r2 of 0.6816 when compared to control (3035.60 U/gds) and other amino acids used in our present study. 28 pp. Englisch.

Some scholars claim that the timely release of the film in the first year of Barack Obama's presidency renders The Princess and the Frog an appropriate marker of America's so-called 'new age' of racial harmony: While a black president resides in the White House, a black princess lives in the Disney castle.When the characters sing 'Dreams Do Come True in New Orleans' (Newman), the city - though accurately and authentically depicted - is presented as a dreamspace with racial harmony, contrary to the real New Orleans at that time. In this context, the peculiar absence of racial tension throughout the film might be an approach to overwrite the problematic position the city occupies in the minds of many Americans with a romantic fairy tale by Disney. Therefore it can be said that The Princess and the Frog serves as a tourist brochure for the city which makes viewers nostalgically look back.To prove my theses of how blackness is formed in The Princess and the Frog, I will have a closer look at the setting of the Disney-movie since New Orleans, which is often considered as a place of 'racial difference', plays an important role in the film's construction of blackness. At first I will give a brief overview of the city's colonial history before explaining the concept of Creolization and link this idea to New Orleans. In the following part of my paper, I will analyze the representation of blackness in Walt Disney's film The Princess and the Frog by on the one hand referring to the setting and its depiction and on the other hand taking into account Tiana, the first African American princess, and her illustration in the film. Due to limitations of space and since the portrayals of New Orleans and Tiana provide lots of interesting material for an analysis, the display of voodoo and the study of other characters in the film is omitted in this paper. Finally, in the conclusion I sum up my findings and elaborate on an issue, or respectively, answer a question which was often posed and discussed about after the release of the film: Does Disney neglect stereotypes in The Princess and the Frog or promote them 28 pp. Englisch.

The analysis of attitudes and perceptions of the volunteer as well as potential benefits the experience may have on their future life in general and career especially has been carried out by means of online survey. Further similarities and differences between 'general' volunteers and research volunteers have been established and analyzed, leading to the insight that altruism combined with the desire to travel and experience a different culture are central motivators to both groups and similar perceived benefits are attributed to volunteering. This study concludes that research volunteering can be especially beneficial to all parties involved if design and realization of the project are given great consideration and suggests further research into the complex task to develop mutually beneficial volunteering projects despite ongoing commodification of this area of sustainable tourism. 64 pp. Englisch.

Zu diesen Sprechern zählenauch die Einwohner der westlichen Inselhälfte von Hispaniola, besser bekannt alsHaïti. In der Kolonialzeit im 15. Jahrhundert kam es zur Ausrottung derUrbevölkerung in Haïti und erst im 17. Jahrhundert wurden afrikanische Sklavenimportiert. Die unterschiedlichen Sprachen erschwerten die Kommunikationzwischen Kolonialherren und Sklaven, aber auch zwischen den Sklaven selbst, dadiese nicht alle aus derselben Region gebracht wurden, um Verschwörungen zuvermeiden. Kontakt zwischen Menschen, Kulturen und Sprachen war jedochunumgänglich im Alltag, sodass sich beispielsweise neue Sprachen entwickelten, dieanfangs nur zur gegenseitigen Verständigung dienten (Pidginsprachen), aber auchschon bald Muttersprache für die Sklavenbevölkerung wurden (Kreolsprachen).
