During the investigation of prior research no technique was identified to undertake such a study. A hierarchical terminology technique (HTT), which is a form of content analysis process, was developed to structure a hierarchy of concepts to expose the relationships between terms. This technique includes terminology identification, analysis and presentation to show the scope of a research field and to present terminology and definitions to improve consistency. The participants included five physics faculty members with different levels of teaching experience who were teaching one of the quantum physics courses and 43 senior or junior undergraduate students enrolled in their courses. The findings of this study revealed that students struggle in QP classes mainly because of (1) complex mathematical tools in QP, (2) abstract concepts and non-parallel construction of QP, (3) QP has a bad reputation that negatively affects students prior to taking it, (4) the pace in curriculum of quantum physics courses is too fast for the students. In order to increase students conceptualization of QP concepts: (1) more time on solving more abstract conceptual questions, (2) more recitation hours for solving more numerical problems, (3)revision of curriculum is necessary. 172 pp. Englisch.

The combination of these two electrochemical methods gives a possibility for continuous characterization of metal containing heterogeneous catalysts during all steps of their life cycle from synthesis to complete deactivation. The purpose of the ex-situ approach was to develop a common electrochemical method to characterize all VIII group metal catalysts. General steps, which can be used for every platinum group metal without making any specification or requirements on their nature, were elaborated. Second electrochemical method related to catalyst potential measurements, can provide in-situ information about surface processes in heterogeneous catalytic reactions. Catalyst potential curves can be used to indicate different surface processes. The estimation can be done on the basis on typical patterns. In this thesis, we extend the semantic modeling technique of the EXIP to the research domain and propose a new modeling method to capture implicit knowledge possessed by researchers. Using this extended modeling method, this thesis aims at improving the document retrieval and categorization component of the EXIP by adopting techniques from Natural Language Processing and Text Analysis. Specifically,we exploit a terminology-driven knowledge acquisition approach. A case study is conducted for an imaginary group of researchers in Computer Science. My model, however, measures the growth rate of per capita output under the balanced growth state/constant returns to capital situation. This situation is guaranteed when the relative share of profit is within the critical relative share of profit.In short, the three financial parameters play an important role in economic growth. To gain a co…mprehensive understanding of the biochemical events leading to the phenotypic features of sun-damaged skin initiated by UV-light, we have undertaken a Serial Analysis of Gene Expression (SAGE) of sun-damaged and sun-protected skin from a single patient undergoing elective facial plasty. Furthermore, to determine the inter-individual differences in gene expression profiles, we have used RNA preparations from skin obtained from 11 Caucasian patients with moderate sun damage and analyzed the changes in mRNA levels encoded by more than 22,000 different genes represented on microarrays. Elucidating the details of biosynthetic and signaling cascades involved in photoaging and the complex inter-relationships between these different mechanisms will not only assist in establishing the biological basis for sun damage and solar elastosis, it will also provide critical new insights into the treatment of the prematurely, aged appearance of skin. 160 pp. Englisch.
