Each volume with an engraved title by Stagnon after Alberti and each title with a vignette central motif. A few small old pin prick marginal holes (volumes 2 and 10) not affecting the text. A very good copy WITH WIDE MARGINS in a pretty period binding. The bookplate of Viscount Downe (Timet Pudorem). Pietro Antonio Domenico Trapassi 16981782, better known by his pseudonym of Pietro Metastasio was an Italian poet and librettist, considered the most important writer of opera seria libretti. His collected works edited and with a prefatory Dissertazione by Ranieri de' Calsabigi. Here found with the scarce 10th volume published 11 years after the others.
