Jankel Adler was a Polish-Jewish avant-garde painter and printmaker active primarily in Germany, France and England. He began his career as an engraver in Belgrade before studying arts in Germany. Co-founding the Yung-yidish group in AÛdz, he later became involved with the Cologne Progressives and the Union of Progressive International Artists in Germany. He began teaching at Kunstakademie D sseldorf and was a student of the Swiss abstract painter Paul Klee who had an important influence on Adler's work. Paper and card with stapled spine.

Uncut pages. Condition (external): sound, mild edgewear; occasional spotting. Condition (internal): the paper wraps have some marking in places - not unlike spots of dried up glue. The pages are mild to moderately tanned with occasional foxing - more noticeably on the preliminary and final pages; often located at the margins. Tight binding.
