Pictorial green cloth ,front board somewhat dulled with age with gilt titling, aeg, pages loose within the binding including 15 beautiful full original chromo-lithographs plus one cut -out ( a bookmark ?) designed in England, printed in Germany.Undated but ca. 1890.

Undated, but published in late 19th century, as attested by 'Xmas 1887'' notation accompanying owner name on verso of front free endpaper. No additional markings present. Hinges started but binding secure. Some age toning and a few scattered watermarks to pictorial boards.

(Including 6 full page colour chromolithographs). (No. 4322) Not dated but believed to be late 19th century. Some bumping and scuffing to the edges of the boards but no additions from the previous owners apart from a gifting dedication on the front free end paper. A clean and presentable book internally, externally there are some signs of handling . All orders processed and shipped promptly from the UK. Hardcover. Condizione: Good. Hardcover. Illustrated paper over boards with green cloth spine. Cover illustration of woman with two children in armchair is in color, and still quite bright. Shelf-wear along edges has worn paper there, slightly exposing boards. Boards are rubbed, but free of any significant markings. Rear gutter is cracked through; binding feels a bit loose, but covers and signatures remain attached. Title page (with handsome lettering and color frontispiece) is not dated. No copyright page. Containing 26 stories. 152 pages, free of marks with the exception of a few smudges in margins here and there. Beautifully illustrated throughout. Pen inscription front endpaper dated 1884, only date in book, interior otherwise clean. Lithographed and printed by Ernest Nister of Nuremberg. Introduction in the form of a poem by E. Nesbit, and a poem by George MacDonald. Contains eleven colorful chromolithograph illustrations by Harriett M. Bennett. Not dated, but since the longhand entries recount the First Steps and other accomplishments of a child born in May, 1895, 1894 is a good guess. A very good copy, in color-illustrated boards backed in cloth. Light soil to covers and wear to extremities. Internally near fine, with neat notations in ink. Family names: Pettigrew; Sisson.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Rare original Victorian children's book that is beautifully illustrated by Harriett M. Bennett with several wonderful chromolithographs. The book is overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. It is undated but circa about 1885. The covers only have some light wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is mostly nice and clean with just a few pages with some mild foxing and some grubby marks (most noticeably the double page illustration titled "Carrying home the Yule Log" which is shown in the photos). Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection. The book measures approximately 9 3/4 inches by 7 3/4 inches. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
