An attractive example with wear to the edges of the board corners but the illustration to the front remaining clean and bright. The blue cloth spine is present with only minor rubbing to the tips. The contents are entirely complete with no loose or torn pages. There is an ink inscription dated Christmas 1914 otherwise no further inscriptions or stamps. The text block is square and tight. The sellotape repairs to the frontispiece have caused adhesive tape staining to the paper of the frontispiece, and also to the neighbouring region of the front free endpaper. An early owner's inscription on the front endpaper - "To Patti with Love from Auntie May", beneath which is another recent inscription - "(a family friend) about 1924". No other inscriptions or marginalia. Gutters broken at hinges. ; Illustrated papered boards with red cloth spine. Full colour illustrations by Louis Wain on both the front and rear boards.
