The second edition of this work, originally published in 1915.A work of literary satire by H. G. Wells; Wells created the character of Reginald Bliss who is making a book out of some work left behind by an author who died [being George Boon.] In this volume, Bliss complains that all he found in his literary remains was "nothing but fragments."Wells denied authorship for quite some time after the publication. This volume is particularly popular for the section in which Wells debates the nature of literature with fellow author Henry James, caricatured in the book. With some illustrations in text throughout. I the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally smart with only minor shelf wear and a slight darkening to the cloth of the spine, with a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A small previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. With a minor faint spotting to the occasional leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean.
