Bella antiporta calcografica con figure allegorico-mitologiche. Frontespizio con titolo e piccola veduta di Firenze entro cornice incisa. Ottimo esemplare, marginoso e immune da difetti (salvo alcune bruniture ininfluenti, davvero di minima entità). Nitida e rara riedizione veneziana settecentesca di questa storia di Firenze risalente al Rinascimento. L'opera, che si arresta alla morte di Lorenzo il Magnifico, si propone di confutare il Giovio ed è improntata ad aspri spiriti antimedicei. Proprio queste dure critiche del Bruto ai Medici fecero sì che, quando essa vide la luce, Cosimo I ne facesse distruggere quante più copie poté, perseguitando l'autore.
