Green cloth backed spine and pictorial paper covered boards, with a lovely chromolithograph illustration of three (dressed) Kittens skipping with skipping ropes, to the upper cover and with a plain back. . No Date given but this is an Original late Victorian Transformation title - so c.1890s. The edges of the boards are scuffed, in places through to the cardboard. The rear board had some markings and is a bit grubby. A former owner has provided New plain cream endpapers. The Title page is illustrated in black and white, and in the book the verses, by Clifton Bingham, have 6 circular transforming chromolithographs scenes with their (grubby) 'tabs', and numerous black and white drawings. Sometimes also referred to as 'Dissolving' pictures, 4 of the Transformations work perfectly but 2 need repairing, but all 'bits' are present for a proper restoration. The book is 'thumbed' here and there throughout the book, obviously a loved book, with some marks, & spots here and there, but there is no childs colouring or any major flaws - apart from the ones mentioned - just generally handling grubbiness, which, with time and care, most of it can be cleaned! Overall a good copy of this charming book of changing pictures, which needs some professional restoration/TLC to bring it back to it's former glory. Delightful Nister Movable! . Printed in Bavaria.
