Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Unclipped dust jacket protected by archival mylar. Edited reflections from addicts and their loved ones, collected by the Associate Director of the Henry Street Settlement. According to the jacket, "If we listen carefully, we can hear the tones of a new world emerging, not just the world of junk, but a world so distressing, so inhospitable that countless thousands flee from it into the escape of narcotics. This is the voice of the addict, but it is also the voice of the people telling us about a world they never made. A sensitive social worker and a talented editor have brought them to us, and it behooves us to listen before it is too late.".
