Compiled from the authors' private diaries to provide a short and simple record of the work done by the Regiment during the war in South Africa. Written in diary form. Eps browned. Previous owner's inscription on ffep. A fewpots of foxing on prelims but text clean. Handsomely bound in red and yellow bevelled cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine. Crest of Queen's Royal IX Lancers on front board. All edges gilt. Cloth weakened along edges of spine with a little fraying at centre of rear edge. Patches of damp-staining on rear board. Spine somewhat darkened. Front board bright. Map in VG condition. Overall condition VG.
