The competition for an architectural design for the new National Theatre in Budapest received 73 entries. It was won by Ferenc Bn. Roderick Ham was a jury member who contributed a report of the competition in which he discusses some aspects of what makes a successful theatre design. Roderick Ham (1925 Ð 2017) was a much admired theatre architect who played an important role in the development of British theatre design in the postwar years.
