All the plates have their titles tissue guards but some of these are creased. Plates all in good condition. Top edges gilt. One page has a short tear…to the front edge. Some light foxing and marking in places. Endpapers browned. Inner hinges slightly loose. Publishers heavily gilt decorated green cloth from Rackham illustrations. The spine is heavily torn at the top (no loss) and the bottom of the spine is torn along the edges. The edges and corners are rubbed and frayed. The book could easily be re-cased as it has no loss of the cloth. Only a fair copy. This is the best edition with extra black and white illustrations by Rackham and is the first edition as such. With 50 tipped-in colour plates and black and white illustrations throughout by Arthur Rackham. (illustratore).
