With a black and white frontispiece by Christina Duffy and Anne Trembley. A better than very goof copy, the binding square and firm with some bumping to the spine tips and a tiny tear to the lower front spine joint, and a small mark to the upper board. The topstain is darkened towards the fore-edge. The contents, with a bookplate to the front free endpaper and eight tiny spots to the fore-edge of the closed text block, are otherwise clean throughout and without previous owners' inscriptions or stamps. Inscribed by the author in black ink on the title page "For Jared! - / Hoping you like dark beer! / Cheers, / Tim Powers". The recipient is an editor and publisher of genre fiction. Issued in an edition of 825 clothbound copies, from which this example is numbered 765, and signed by Tim Powers, the author of the introduction K. W. Jeter, and the author of the afterword James P. Blaylock in black ink on the colophon.
