With colorfully decorated glossy paper over quarter green cloth-wrapped spine, lettered there in gilt (heavily faded), it is in VG+ condition: very clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages white & completely unmarked. Very mild exterior soil & bumping/rubbing to corners. Spine cloth & lettering are faded. No DJ, as issued. Condition is Good: sewn binding is strong & straight, but loosening in places; Translator's Note page & 1 of the illustrated plates are completely detached. All pages generally clean with the occasional spot or smudge, but otherwise unmarked. All moderately tanned, with scattered foxing, heavier to endpapers. In addition to the Frontis, 20 illustrations are listed--there are actually more, but all these are present.
