Erste Ausgabe.Frontespizio inciso f.t. con il ritratto dell'autore. Secondo volumetto di epigrammi pubblicato dall'autore. "Dopo aver studiato a Brescia e a Bologna, Carlo Roncalli fu piu volte a Parigi, dove strinse relazione con J.J. Rousseau e altri letterati. Ritiratosi poi nella sua citta fu socio di vare accademie. Tra il 1789 e il 1795 pubblico a Venezia 4 volumi di epigrammi. Propri o tradotti, in cui confessava modestamente di imitare lo spirito degli antichi; in verita tali componimenti non mancano di toni personali, sono di una fluida eleganza assai piacevole, rivelano spesso un acuto senso di osservazione e un animo nobile" (Laterza 1966: vol. IV pag. 596). Lievi bruniture n.t. Tracce d'uso al margine del dorso e dei piatti. Esemplare in buone condizioni. Prima edizione.

Il primo, edito nel 1786, conteneva gli epigrammi francesi colla traduzione italiana.
