Volví a verlo meses después, escondido tras las cruces de la plaza ceremonial de Chamula, tomando fotos de un remolino de viento que arrebataba sombreros y levantaba faldas y rebozos, papeles y polvo, obligando a los tzotziles a cerrar los ojos y dejar que todo pasara tal como estaba sucediendo. Fue el primer fotógrafo en dar cuenta del levantamiento zapatista, y más tarde, en Oaxaca, fotografió el movimiento de la APPO. Estuvo en Nueva York el 11 de septiembre de 2001 y ha tomado imágenes de los mexicanos en Estados Unidos y de la crisis industrial del Medio Oeste.
