Six vintage black-and-white studio still photographs from the 1964 internationally produced film, here under the US title, "The Visit." Included are two film credits sheets from publicity manager Mort Segal, referring to actress Demick as she visits Tunisia, smokes a hookah, and shops locally. One image from the set is shown. Please inquire for others. Based on Durrenmatt's 1956 play, "Der Besuch der alten Dame." Karla (Bergman) is disgraced as an unwed mother and banished from her hometown. She later returns a fabulously wealthy woman, ready to confront the child's father Serge (Quinn), who denied paternity, and seek revenge. Collection of 32 vintage keybook snapshot photographs, from the 1972 film. Possibly unique. A lesser known film in director Roman Polanski's oeuvre, a comedic and highly sexualized homage to Alice in Wonderland, starring Sydne Rome as an American hitchhiker who stumbles upon an increasingly bizarre and decadent party at an Italian villa. Filmed on location in Italy as "Che?," the film also saw later release in the US as "Diary of Forbidden Dreams." 5 x 3.5 inches. Near Fine to Very Good plus.

Vintage oversize borderless reference photograph of Luchino Visconti and Silvana Mangano on the set of the 1971 film. Mimeo snipe, "Parimage" stamp, and "Camera Press" stamp, on verso. Based on Thomas Mann's 1912 novella. Mann's lonely and obsessed novelist was transformed by Visconti into a composer based on Mahler who travels to Venice for his health and becomes increasingly obsessed with an adolescent Polish boy. The middle film of Visconit's "German Trilogy," an impressionistic, conceptual cycle that begins with "The Damned" (1969) and ends with "Ludwig" (1972). Nominated for an Academy Award and for the Palm d'Or. Shot on location in Venice, Italy. 12 x 9 inches. Very Good plus, with some creasing and two small closed tears to left edge. Criterion Collection 962. Vogel, Film as a Subversive Art.
