In 1839, he coined the term "protoplasma" for the fluid substance of a cell. He was one of the best known scientists of his time. Written n Czech. "Acta Facultatis Medicae Universitatis Brunensis". Illustrated frontis of Purkyne, and has several illustrations. Binding is worn on the edges and is faded; pages are age-toned. SIGNED BY AUTHOR. Book.
