So stehen im vorliegenden Buch Zahlen, Vektoren und uni…variate Polynome im Mittelpunkt, waehrend in einem nachfolgenden Band auf Algorithmen zu Matrizen, Funktionen und multivariaten Polynomen eingegangen wird. Nach einer Wiederholung der mathematischen Grundlagen stehen Entwicklung und Computerrealisierung der Loesungsmethoden im Vordergrund.Der Leser erfaehrt, wie die jeweiligen mathematischen Objekte am Computer mit Hilfe von Datenstrukturen dargestellt werden koennen, und wie die damit verbundenen elementaren Rechenoperationen ausgefuehrt werden koennen, etwa die Addition rationaler Zahlen oder die Multiplikation zweier Polynome. Umfangreichere Problemstellungen werden hinsichtlich ihrer Loesbarkeit und ihrer Sensitivitaet gegenueber Stoerungen der Eingangsdaten untersucht. Darauf basierend werden Algorithmen zu deren Loesung hergeleitet und in Form von Pseudocode sowie anhand von Beispielen praesentiert. Die Diskussion der Algorithmen wird hinsichtlich des Aufwands, mit dem die Berechnung einer Loesung am Computer verbunden ist, sowie der Rechenfehler, die durch Diskretisierung, vorzeitigen Abbruch, Rundung und/oder fehlerhafte Eingangsdaten entstehen koennen, gefuehrt. Tatsaechliche Implementierungen in Mathematica und/oder Matlab der im Buch beschriebenen Algorithmen stehen als Download zur Verfuegung. "Algorithmische Methoden" beantwortet gaengige Fragen der Analysis und linearen Algebra unter Verwendung der Softwarepakete Matlab und Mathematica - am Computer.
