La muestra cuenta además con dos stands con maquetas de construcciones desaparecidas de Gustav Klucis que se han diseñado a partir de dibujos originales del autor. También se incluye una tribuna de oradores con pantalla y un "radio-orador". La muestra pretende contextualizar la deslumbrante obra del artista letón dentro del complejo momento histórico que le tocó vivir. El fuerte contenido documental que incluye contextualiza las realizaciones del artista. Por un lado, llama la atención la calidad objetiva de sus producciones; por otro, su trayectoria creadora y teórica lleva a reflexionar sobre las relaciones entre el poder, el arte y la propaganda. La exposición está estructurada en siete apartados: 'Fotomontaje y construcción', 'El arte entra en acción, el compromiso político', 'La construcción de un mito, Lenin', 'Fotomontajes para la literatura de propaganda', 'El grupo octubre', 'Un arte para la vida' y 'La URSS en construcción'. Toda la obra se engloba dentro del constructivismo, que da nombre a la muestra. Este término nació en Moscú en 1921 en el marco de los trabajos colectivos, debates y exposiciones del Instituto de Cultura Artística (InKhUK). * GUSTAV KLUCIS, el artista: Gustav Klucis, artista constructivista, pionero del fotomontaje y destacado cartelista, nació en Letonia en 1895. El artista desarrolló su trayectoria artística en la Rusia soviética, donde llegó a convertirse en uno de los máximos representantes de su vanguardia. Durante la Revolución de 1917 Klucis participó activamente en la política, poniendo en los años posteriores su arte al servicio de la construcción de la URSS junto a creadores como Ródchenko, Mayakovski , Meyerhold y Eisenstein. El constructivismo se instaura como un símbolo de creatividad sin límites durante los primeros años del bolchevismo. Dentro de esta corriente, Klucis apuesta por un arte funcional aplicado a la vida y a la construcción social. Son de aquel momento algunas de sus más célebres construcciones: tribunas de oradores, quioscos de agit-prop y escenografías para actos políticos. Además, interviene en aquella época en el diseño de los pabellones soviéticos en numerosas exposiciones internacionales. Gustav Klucis aspira a conciliar la experimentación artística con la vida colectiva. Sin embargo, las férreas pautas que se imponen a la creación artística desde 1932, época del realismo socialista, frustran sus esperanzas.
